Operazione Mato Grosso missions in Peru that still need our support
In the heart of the poorest and most neglected neighborhoods of Nueva Chimbote, a project was born that today offers free education and meals to hundreds of people. A work of hope built through the efforts of young Peruvian and Italian volunteers.
A unique project was born from the vision of an Italian family: opening a school for children with disabilities and, later, creating the inclusive pastry shop, El Especial. A place where young people learn a trade, discover their worth, and become a beacon of light for the community.
In Yanama, at an altitude of 3,400 meters, Martina opens the doors of the Don Bosco Workshop to 35 girls who have overcome vulnerable situations. There they find a home, education, and the art of weaving as a path toward a dignified future.
Hogar Virgen de Guadalupe in Lima welcomes patients from the Chacas hospital who require specialized medical care in the capital. There they find lodging, companionship, and the affection of those who have dedicated their lives to serving the most in need.
This project was born from the example and dedication of Father Daniele Badiali and, more than 25 years later, continues to offer children and young people with disabilities a home full of care, affection and dignity.
Since 2001, the home has provided shelter for abandoned elderly people from the mountains, offering them care, companionship, and dignity in their final years. It also supports single mothers, children, and the sick in vulnerable situations, extending its charitable work to the entire community.
What began as a small initiative to keep children in a vulnerable area of Ancón occupied has now become a free music school that transforms lives. More than 250 students are part of an orchestra that combines art, discipline, and values.
What if we also trained the teachers? For over three decades, Operazione Mato Grosso has been supporting schools dedicated to training teachers committed to rural education. It's a project that multiplies social impact through teaching.
