San Danielito Home

Today, more than 25 years later, the home provides shelter to 32 children and teenagers with disabilities in two separate spaces: one for 12 girls and another for 20 boys. Here, they find not only care, but also a dignified, family-like environment, with daily routines of prayer, workshops, physiotherapy, a bakery, a vegetable garden, and educational and recreational activities. Two Italian volunteer families live with the children and take part in all these activities.

The project is sustained thanks to the support of generous donors and the dedication of a team made up of volunteer families, young collaborators, and more than 50 local staff members. Many have been involved in this mission for over 15 years, demonstrating a true vocation of care, patience, and commitment.

Above all, it is a home of hope, offering each young person the opportunity to grow up in an environment where they are valued, their autonomy is encouraged, and they share life in community.

The San Danielito Children’s Home was founded thanks to the dedication of Father Daniele Badiali, an Italian priest who took in two children with disabilities in his parish home in San Luis. After his murder in 1997, the community chose to continue his work, keeping his spirit of love and solidarity alive.
