Virgen de Guadalupe Home

The Virgen de Guadalupe Home in Lima welcomes patients from the Chacas hospital who require specialized medical care in the capital. There, they find lodging, companionship, and the care of those who have dedicated their lives to serving those most in need.

It is not always possible for patients at the Chacas hospital to receive the treatments they need. Some cases are so complex that they require transfer to Lima, where patients can access more specialized hospitals. However, reaching the capital is not easy: many patients lack the resources, accommodation, or someone to accompany them through this difficult process.

In response to this need, the Virgen de Guadalupe Home was established—the fruit of the vocation and dedication of Luisa Melazzini, who for more than twenty years has devoted her life to caring for the sick and the abandoned.

The house offers hospitality to patients and, when necessary, to their families, providing not only a place to stay but also assistance and support during medical appointments. With the capacity to accommodate up to 50 people, it has become a true haven of compassion in the heart of the city.

Thanks to this project, those who come from the mountains of Áncash to the capital for treatment find more than just a roof over their heads: they find support, comfort, and dignity in one of the most difficult moments of their lives.
