OPERATION MATO GROSSO

Operation Mato Grosso (OMG) is a movement that educates young people through volunteer work for the poorest people in Latin America, born from the heart and imagination of the Salesian priest Father Ugo De Censi -Father Hugo in Peru-.

Through work, young people embark on a path that leads them to discover and live fundamental values: physical effort, generosity, consistency between words and life, team spirit, respect and collaboration with others, sensitivity to the problems of the most needy, the search for the meaning of life and love for one's neighbor.

Over the years, numerous volunteers have participated in missions and launched projects and activities to benefit the poorest members of society. Some of them gave their lives serving others, true martyrs of charity whose witness continues to inspire many. You can learn about their stories on the official Mato Grosso website.

Intuitions, glances that transcend the confines of the horizon.

Irrational and seemingly absurd proposals.

Nothing in Father Hugo's life is born with the certainty of a project.

A spark ignites within him and generates a contagion that warms and moves thousands of boys.

It's always been this way.

He is an explorer who knows how to guess the route.

Instill the courage to begin the adventure.

All dreams are linked by a golden thread, which opens every door where four words will be insufficient for a project but enough to realize a dream:

SILENCE, ART, WORK and LOSING
