Soli Deo Music School
In 2013, Father Ugo de Censi and Bishop Lino Panizza promoted the creation of a mission house in Villas de Ancón, where Father Francis Jara, along with teacher Wilfredo Tarazona and several volunteers, founded a free music school for children without access to basic services.
Moved by the neglect faced by families in this desert region, Father Francis sought to bring children closer to the parish by offering them spaces for growth and development. The idea soon emerged to form a choir, which over time expanded into a full orchestra. At the same time, spaces were created for sports, the oratory, and catechism classes.
Over the years, the project has grown to include specialized teachers, multiple instrumental disciplines, and its own facilities. Today, 250 children participate in choirs and orchestras, and several have been admitted to the National University of Music, demonstrating that arts education, combined with strong values, can be a true driver of social change.
